About
I’m Nic Hodges. I work at the intersection of technology, media and culture. Over two decades that’s meant senior roles at agencies including M&C Saatchi, Clemenger BBDO and MediaCom, leading commercial innovation at News Corp and Foxtel, and founding Robot Deputy, a media technology startup. I ran my own consultancy for a few years, then led innovation at Reece Group, before moving to Trout Creative Thinking, where I’m a Brand Partner leading strategy and creative, focused on what AI means for both.
I trained as an industrial designer before code pulled me into digital. Along the way I’ve written for Wired and Forbes, appeared on ABC’s 7.30 and Radio National, keynoted conferences in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US, and written code that’s now in the National Archive of Australia. I have never satisfactorily explained to my mum what I do.
I’ve been writing here since 2007 (as Blonde3 until 2026). The best way to reach me is LinkedIn.
